The 8512A is a 45 MHz to 20 GHz Reflection / Transmission Test Set.
The 8512A Reflection / Transmission Test Set provides the capability to simultaneously measure the complex reflection and transmission characteristics of a test device from 45 MHz to 18 GHz in transmission and 500 MHz to 18 GHz in reflection.
Reflection measurements to 45 MHz are achievable with some loss (about 30 dB) in dynamic range. An 8512A based system offers very broad dynamic range with the highest accuracy available.
The 8512A is used with the 8510 series.
The 8512A reflection/transmission test set uses one coupler for signal separation.
The standard 8512A has:
three RF to IF converters, for making reflection and transmission measurements,
no step attenuators to internally change the incident power level,
no bias tees to apply external DC bias to the test port center conductors.
